PROF. DR. H.M SHAHIDUL ISLAM BARAKATI

Chairman, Shariah Supervisory Committee

H.M Shahidul Islam Barakati, an eminent Islamic scholar, obtained his M. Phil. And Ph.D. degrees from the University of Dhaka apart from his regular educational career from Madrash on Hadish and Qur’an. Along side the decades of expertise in delivering Islam related speeches, he is very well known at home and abroad. He is currently Chairman of multiple  Shari’ah Supervisory Boards besides being member of significant number of financial institutions in the country.

He is also the director of Al Qur’an Research Centre and the Bangladesh Masjid Mission in Dhaka, among other positions in prominent Islamic Councils and forums. Achieving the excellence on Shari’ah and Qur’an, he also has written several number of books on Islamic issues. As a guest speaker, he has attended several seminars in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, India and Malaysia.

He regularly anchors many Islamic programs on Radio, Television and other satellite channels in Bangladesh.

MD. FARIDUDDIN AHMED

Member, Shariah Supervisory Committee

Mr. Md. Fariduddin Ahmed has extensive knowledge in Shariah and economics. He teaches Islamic Banking in various organizations. He is an Independent Director of ICB Islamic Bank Ltd. He is also Chairman, Executive Committee and member of Fiqh committee in the Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh. Mr. Farid was the Managing Director and CEO of the Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited & EXIM Bank Limited. He was also the Advisor of EXIM Bank Limited.

Besides Nagad Islamic, he also a member of Shariah Supervisory Board/Committee for other renowned financial Institutions and organizations. Mr. Farid is the current Shariah Supervisory Board of BBML SUKUK Al Ijara (A concern of PRAN-RFL Group) and the Summit Communications Ltd., which was formed for issuing SUKUK. He is also the Member of the Islamic Economic Research Bureau and Life Member of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh.

He attended in various Training Programs, participated in many Seminars and Conferences at home and abroad and presented Papers on Islamic Banking & Finance. For his immense contribution to the growth & development of Islamic Banking, Mr. Farid was awarded by different organizations including Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh. Apart from that, he was awarded Nawab Sir Salimullah gold medal for his remarkable contribution to the establishment, growth and development of Islamic Banking in Bangladesh.

MOHAMMAD MOHIUDDIN

Member, Shariah Supervisory Committee

Dr. Mohammad Mohiuddin, a prominent youth Islamic scholar, is an expert of Islamic financial management and digital financial service. Besides his teaching job, he is also famous for Islamic research and renowned as an international speaker.

Dr. Mohiuddin is serving as the Founder Chairman of Global Philanthropic Planet (GPP) Foundation, Coordinator (English Programs) of Islamic Economics Association of Kuwait University, Chief Advisor of Research Lab Chattogram (RLC) and Secretary-General of Asian-African Youth Government (AAYG).

He is also the organizer of community and humanitarian services globally. Dr. Mohiuddin has several journals and publications on Islamic studies, including a popular research paper titled ‘A Journey to Inter-Cultural and Inter-Civilizational Studies’, published at the 1^st International Conference on Peace in Diversity in Agadir, Morocco in 2017.

Mr. Mohiuddin has obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (Department of Qur’an and Sunnah Studies) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

MAULANA MUFTI MAHMUDUL HASAN MADANI

Mahmudul Hasan Madani, a prominent Imam of Azampur Jame Masjid, is serving as the director of Al Madrasatul Islamia Shafiul Ummah and Department head at Al Qur’an and Islamic teaching at Markaz Nure Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Obtaining Honor’s degree in Islamic Studies from the University of Madina, Saudi Arabia, he is also the recipient of the prestigious Yajah Award, the highest academic recognition in Islamic study from Masjid– E–Nabawi. Serving as Shariah Board Advisor at the excellent world, Mr. Madani regularly participates in ATN Bangla as a guest Islamic scholar. He is the national winner of Qur’an recitation and the ‘Hamd-Naat’ competition arranged by Islamic Foundation Bangladesh.
